Sydney, 24 September 2020:  Smart energy Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) company Simble Solutions Limited (ASX:SIS) is pleased to announce its collaboration with Mirvac, Synergy, Keystart and Terrace aiming to understand the cost savings that can be achieved by living in an efficient home, on a ‘first-of-its-kind’ experiment in West Australia.

About the Mirvac Affordability Experiment

A partnership between Mirvac property group, West Australian energy provider Synergy, government lender Keystart and builder Terrace, the industry-leading Affordability Experiment aims to tackle the barriers that many aspiring home owners face; including saving for a deposit, initial purchase price of a home and escalating on going living costs.

 As part of the experiment, a state-wide search was conducted giving one lucky West Australian family the opportunity to get a step closer to making their dream of home ownership a reality. In October 2020, the chosen family will move into a custom-built Terrace home for a year at Iluma Private Estate, a master planned community north east of Perth. https://iluma.mirvac.com/affordability-experiment

About the SimbleHome App

The SimbleHome App allows Australian households to easily analyse and track their energy consumption, and helps identify opportunities for cost and energy savings. It also incorporates solar generation information and integrates with non-energy related sensors such as humidity and temperature sensors.

The role of SimbleHome in the Affordability Experiment

Simble’s state-of-the-art SimbleHome App will be utilised to monitor the family’s energy, water use and lifestyle in order to understand the cost savings that can be achieved by living in an efficient home and its impact on the family’s lifestyle. In addition, the potential for these cost savings to improve debt serviceability and reduce the repayment timeframe on an average mortgage will be analysed.

The findings from this experiment will help pave the way to affordable home ownership by developing sustainable homes of the future that reduce environmental and social impacts and free households from soaring energy bills.
